THE VOICE OF THE LORD IS POWERFUL
Ps 28 -29
Key Verse: 29:4

I. The LORD Is My Strength And My Shield (Ps 28)
1. Who wrote this Psalm? What did he do in a time of trouble? (28:1-2) In those times what was a routine kind of hypocrisy (28:3-4), and how did this reflect peoples' spiritual condition? (28:5) How did the Psalmist's desire and actions differ?
2. What did the Psalmist depend on? (28:6-7) How can we win the spiritual victory every day? (28:7-8) What did he pray for God to guide his people?

II. The Voice Of The LORD (Ps 29)
1. Who wrote this Psalm? What does "ascribe" mean? What do you think he means by "mighty ones" (29:1), and what should our attitude toward God be?
2. What is the main theme of 29:3-9? List the things mentioned here that the voice of the LORD can do. How does the word of God change individual people and cultures? (Heb 4:12; Jn 5:8-9; Jn 4:28-29; 1Co 1:21,28,29)
3. Think about the meaning of thundering over waters, God's power, the strength of cedars, flashes of lightning, desert, twisting oaks, floods. What is God's position in relation to nature? in relation to his people?
